She may only be 17, but she’s already making waves in the golfing world. Recently, she picked up the first prize in the 2013 ladies’ British amateur championship at Machynys Peninsula in South Wales. She has double cause for celebration too, as she now holds both the girls’ and the ladies’ titles simultaneously.
Finishing the Machynys Peninsula championship in style, she hit her first-ever hold in one to help her seal the victory.
Talking to BBC Radio Solent, Hall said: “It’s amazing. I’m so happy, it feels good.” Meanwhile, describing the hole-in-one on the penultimate hole, she added: “I couldn’t believe it when it went in. It was very, very windy, the last day was the hardest conditions so I had to be patient and keep the ball as low as possible.
“I was behind all the way, in just about the strongest wind I have ever played in, but I never gave up. I knew I had to be patient and wait for things to turn my way – and they did.”
Thanks to her performance, she now qualifies for the Open and US Open and she noted she wants to turn professional before the end of the year.
Whatever standard people reach with their game, it’s important they have ladies’ waterproof golf jackets.
